Initially released as "Merchant Prince," this game won a Platinum Triad Strategy Game of the Year from CGR and was nominated for Strategy Game of the Year by CGW. The "Machiavelli" rerelease is new and improved with all kinds of features we wanted the first time around and it looks better.
You take command of one of the leading merchant families of Renaissance-era Venice. Explore the world, establish trade routes with a wide variety of goods and take part in the vicious politics of the day. Bribe and assassinate senators, rip off money from the treasury, buy bishops and have yourself elected pope. Send out armies to open cities for your goods and use the Black Plague as an economic weapon. Heck, you can even slander your opponents or burn down their houses if you feel so inclined.
