Clandestiny is the latest offering from Trilobyte, the company behind hits such as 7th Guest and The 11th Hour. The game is based around the main character, Andrew MacPhiles, who receives a telegram from Scotland, informing him that he is the last descendant of the MacPhile clan, and that he is the heir to the clan's ancestral castle in Scotland.
The game begins setting the scene with a beautifully animated cartoon introduction. Here you see Andrew MacPhiles and his fiancee, Paula, making their way to Castle MacPhiles. Eventually their car goes into a skid, with the two stars of the game finally finding themselves embedded into the front of the castle. When the drag themselves from the car, they are greeted by the castles occupants, who look like they have come from the cast of the Addams Family. The occupants include the butler, Murthly, Fergus the handyman, and the cook, Mrs. Dimwitty. Here you are told about an evil curse that has plagued the MacPhile clan for decades, and discover that whilst you stay at the castle, your main aim will be to rid the family of this curse before it gets Andrew himself.
