It's World War II and as Jack Thompson, you've just crash-landed your prop plane in the jungle. Your main object is to get back to civilization [though I can't think why, what with the war and all].
First things first, you rescue a bare-breasted princess who then helps you fight half a jungle full of prehistoric animals left over from Jurassic Park.
Get the idea? Good. The lead in fmv, over all graphics and music for this [rather short] demo are simply superb, but your character and that of the princess appear so small on screen that you end up with your nose pressed against the glass. Add to this an unnecessarily difficult interface and rather terrible gameplay where you die nearly every screen - there are 228 of them in the full game - you quickly get bored with the whole experience.
To say you die a thousand deaths then, is no exaggeration. Besides the lovely leafy graphics [above] you also have standard fare arcade walls and jumps stuff to contend with. While making your way across molten lava, watery bits and other dungeon goodies you must constantly keep the princess in your sights - and as she can't swim, jump or fight like you, tactical elements and lateral moves suddenly turn the game into even more of a nightmare.
The few screens of the demo nearly sent me screaming to the bathroom so starting the full game was never an option. Get thee behind me Bermuda Syndrome.
